FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about test management, test automation and acceptance testing.

As soon as a project has more than a handful of interfaces or several teams developing in parallel, quality assurance quickly becomes a full-time job. In our experience, a dedicated test management role pays off from a project with regular releases over several months, for regulated applications (e.g. insurance or healthcare), or whenever business and development teams end up testing past each other. We take on this role selectively for individual releases or continuously for the whole project.
Both — depending on what fits the project. We gradually automate regression-heavy, stable areas of functionality, while exploratory and UAT-related tests usually stay manual because domain understanding matters most there. Before automating anything, we create an automation concept with tool selection and prioritisation, so the investment actually pays off instead of turning into a pile of high-maintenance test scripts.
We start with a test concept and strategy, derive test cases from the requirements, and run tests in a structured way with logging in your tool of choice. Defects are prioritised, tracked through defect management, and re-checked before the next test cycle (retest). We close with a test report and a clear release recommendation, so the go-live decision is based on facts, not gut feeling.
Yes, we're tool-agnostic and work within your existing environment — whether that's Jira with Xray or Zephyr, TestRail, Azure Test Plans, or an in-house tool. You don't need to switch tools for our sake. If no test management structure exists yet, we're happy to propose a lean setup that fits your team size and budget.
Critical defects don't automatically halt the whole schedule — they're prioritised through defect tracking and reported transparently to the business side. We facilitate the decision on whether a defect must be fixed before go-live or documented as a known limitation and fixed afterwards. That keeps the acceptance process traceable and audit-ready, even when not every defect threatens the deadline.
